We have about three weeks until graduation. Help your student finish strong, attend classes and do their best on any tests or exams. Save the date for graduation ~ June 7 at 4 PM, location TBD.

The school counselor is having QuaverEd classes for Pre-K through 6th grades every other Tuesday each month. QuaverEd is a comprehensive elementary curriculum that covers various lessons using an interactive platform.

The Elko Mybrary Mobile is making monthly stops at the Owyhee Combined School. The next visit is Monday, May 13 at 2:00 PM.

The next school board meeting is May 21 in Elko. The meetings begin at 5:30 PM local time and is held in the Elko Board Room.

The 21st Century Braves After Hours Program will hold it's BAH Advisory Board Meeting on May 20, 2024.

Students in grades 9-12 are eligible for TRIO. Students may begin the application process toward the end of the 8th grade if interested. If you have any questions, please contact Cory Freese at (208) 409-0680 or coryfreese@boisestate.edu.

Renowned Indigenous poet, singer and story teller Tanaya Winder will be at the Owyhee Combined School this week. The Shoshone-Paiute Tribes will host a Book Signing / Meet and Greet Monday, May 13 at the Tribal Headquarters at 4:30 followed by her performance at 5:30 PM. Ms. Winder will work with selected English classes on Tuesday and provide presentations to the elementary classes on Wednesday morning. She will travel to Elko and will have an evening program May 15 at the Great Basin College Theater.

The Duck Valley FFA Banquet is Tuesday May 14 at 6 PM.

We are hoping to have a regular, full-time nurse on board soon.

The final class for this is year is scheduled May 16 at 5:30 PM.

Title VI meeting is scheduled for May 20 at 4:30 PM PST, 5:30 PM MST. The meetings are in Elko and are available via Google Meet. Please consider joining and everyone is welcome to attend the Title VI meetings.

The prom "At Last I See the Light" is scheduled May 23 and is sponsored by the junior class. The promenade will be at 6:30 PM and the dance is scheduled from 7:30 PM to 11 PM. No cost to attend. Any non-student guests require prior approval and will receive a guest pass upon approval.

The 21st Century Braves After Hours is planning a "VIP and Me" Gala tentatively set May 24.

High School Track Team is awaiting final results from the regional finals to determine state qualifiers. Results will be posted soon. The Track team had a great year and gained a lot of momentum and experience. Coaches are Gene Blossom and Leilani Thorpe.
