NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with Section 8538 of the Every Student Succeeds Act, Tribal Leaders, Tribal Organizations, Native American Parents, Native American Students, and the General Public are invited to share recommendations regarding programs and services to meet the needs of Native American students in Elko County. This meeting is designed to ensure timely and meaningful consultation on issues affecting American Indian and Alaskan Native students. The input gathered at this meeting will be used to develop the district’s applications for the following programs for the 2024-2025 school year:
• Title I, Part A – Improving Basic Programs Operated by State and Local Education Agencies
• Title I, Part C – Education of Migratory Children
• Title II, Part A – Supporting Effective Instruction
• Title III, Part A – English Language Acquisition, Language Enhancement, and Academic Achievement Act
• Title IV, Part A – Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants
• Title IV, Part B – 21st Century Community Learning Centers
• Title VI, Part A, subpart 1 – Indian Education Formula Grants to Local Education Agencies
The public hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. PST on April 11, 2024
