The Elko County School District (ECSD) Board of Trustees approved a two-year collective bargaining agreement with the Elko County Classroom Teachers Association (ECCTA) and the Elko County Support Staff Organization (ECSSO), which will result in an 11 percent cost of living adjustment over the course of two years.
The two-year contract commits to an 8.5 percent cost of living adjustment in the first year, retroactive July 1, 2023, and an additional 2.5 percent adjustment effective July 1, 2024.
This agreement goes into effect immediately. In addition to the 11 percent increase, there is also a 3.75 percent increase to employees’ District paid retirement contributions. The negotiated agreements can be viewed on the school district website.
ECSD is now able to apply for funds available through the passage of Senate Bill 231, which provides an additional, temporary legislative salary increase for eligible classified and certified staff through July 1, 2025.
Based on the District’s full-time equivalent (FTE) ratio of the state-wide total of all Districts, the Elko County School District is able to apply for a maximum of $7.3 million to be divided amongst eligible certified and classified staff over the course of the next year and a half.
